Consider Big Truck Salvage an online heavy equipment salvage and cargo auction community right at your fingertips. BTS lists more than 10,000 pieces of heavy equipment salvage and cargo every year. Because of the variety of salvage and cargo we list, our nationwide buyers consist of companies like salvage yards, independent owner/operators, salvage resellers, and companies with fleets to maintain.
To become a buyer for BTS, you must first register. Our buyer’s registration process is simple and easy. Step-by-step instructions are provided that will guide you through the process. In addition, a full time support staff will answer any questions you may have about the registration process. If you have any questions during the registration process, call our support staff and they will walk you through the process.

This web site was designed to meet and exceed the needs of both buyer and seller, while meeting all state laws surrounding the sale and distribution of motor vehicle salvage. BTS also strives to provide a group of established, financially stable buyers to our seller’s. In order to facilitate all of these needs into our processes, we require each salvage buyer to meet the following list of requirements.
Buyer Requirements:
  1. To maintain complete and accurate company information under your account. This includes a listed phone number, a valid e-mail address, and the physical location of your company (Company Address).
  2. Your company must provide an EIN (Employer Identification Number) or TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) or SSN (Social Security Number).
  3. If the state in which your business resides requires you to be licensed to purchase salvage, you must have that license to become a buyer. *
  4. Your company is required to maintain a good credit record.
  5. Your company is required to pay all state sales tax where applicable.
  6. A one time $200.00 buyers registration fee will be charged to recover cost we incur during the registration process and yearly renewals. This fee will not be charged until you have met all requirements and your paperwork has been received by us.
* Many states throughout the US require companies and individuals to maintain certain licenses in order to purchase motor vehicle salvage. Salvage sellers are required to sell only to companies that comply with those state laws.

Note: Salvage buyers are required to have either a Sales Tax License or a Statement on Company Letterhead stating they will be responsible for any applicable sales tax….or unless their state doesn't have sales tax.

Step 1 - Online Registration
  1. Signed Declaration Of Compliance that was emailed to you during registration.
  2. A copy of your Driver’s License.
  3. A copy of your Sales Tax License. If your state does not require you to have a sales tax license, please include a letter on company letterhead stating that you will be responsible for all applicable sales tax.
  4. A copy of your Salvage License, Dealers License, Re-Builder's License or Dismantlers License if your state requires one.
  5. A copy of your EIN (Employer Identification Number) or current business license.
  6. ATTENTION NON-USA BUYERS: You will be required to prepay for any salvage that is awarded to you prior to pickup or delivery.

Step 3 - Credit Processing
  1. Your company's credit history will be reviewed by our credit processing agents.
  2. If you company credit history is not available or your company was established within the last 12 months, a personal credit history of a principal owner will be required before your account can be approved.
Note: We use EquiFax, exclusively, to process credit histories. If your company does not have a favorable credit history with EquiFax, your application will not qualify your company to become a salvage buyer. We do not accept other sources of credit history at this time.
Step 4 - Registration Fee Processing
  • The registration fee can be paid to Big Truck Salvage by either Credit Card during the online registration process, or by check in which we will invoice you. The time involved in this part of the registration is determined by which payment method you select. Credit Card processing takes only minutes where as paying by check could take up to 1 to 3 days.
